About 84% of the fish produced in the area is carp. The incomes and competitivity of fish farming is low due mainly to a long production cycle and the seasonality of demand.

The economic activity is not sufficiently diversified, and the area’s tourism potential and cultural heritage are not sufficiently valorised.
