Coopération en action

Cooperating with local groups from other territories can allow FLAGs to find the complementarities or critical mass to increase the impacts of their actions. Below are a series of cooperation proposals and calls which might interest FLAGs.     Local fishermen from the harbour at Isola Rossa on the north-west coast of Sardinia are all onboard with PRiSMa-MED, an initiative aimed at innovating in governance and integrating management of waste at commercial ports. The survey carried out with the fishermen represents PRiSMa-MED in action for the first time.

    The Saint-Brieuc FLAG, in collaboration with 9 other partners - LAGs, FLAGs and other local associations in France, Finland, Sweden and Belgium – is getting ready for its cooperation project on the promotion of local seafood products. The FLAG just recently published its concept note on the project.

    Bohuskust FLAG organized a “tour d’huitres” in March, taking local aquaculture producers to visit FLAG territories in France – the country leading the way in European oyster production. The Swedish delegation spent five days meeting their French counterparts, with the aim of creating contacts for upcoming projects and discussing possible future cooperation.

    Local fisheries communities from France, Italy and Tunisia will be sharing ideas on sustainable economic diversification, thanks to a new cooperation project run by the Etruscan Coast FLAG in Tuscany (IT).

    ‘Tarta-Tur’, a combination of the Italian word for turtle (Tartaruga) and dolphin in Latin (Tursiops), is a conservation project involving four FLAGs across three Italian regions on the Northern Adriatic Coast.

    Laukiem Jūrai FLAG (Partnership for Rural and the sea) are looking for national/international partners from FLAG villages that are involved in implementing the concept of a ‘Smart Village’. They would like to learn from good practice examples and can offer the possibility to see first-hand the implementation of specific smart solution initiatives in Latvian villages.
