PT - FLAG Cooperation in Portugal

The number of FLAGs in Portugal increased from seven to 15 in the current programming period, including three outermost region FLAGs. Cooperation in Portugal is therefore considered a useful tool to allow the FLAGs to bring together the knowledge and capacity of actors with different levels of experience, including those from rural and urban areas. As such, support for cooperation will focus on fostering exchange between different organisations, with the aim of resolving common problems and putting into practice ideas that produce benefits that go beyond a single FLAG area.

There is no specific measure for cooperation in Portugal. FLAGs can participate in cooperation projects using funding from the implementation of their strategies.

Thematic priorities include supporting short circuits for local seafood products, pesca-tourism, the sustainable use of resources, fisheries identity and fostering new coastal activities.
