FLAGs in Lithuania can choose whether to take advantage of the opportunity to cooperate with other groups, in which case, they choose the themes that are most relevant to them. Projects are expected to cover a broad range of topics, such as improving the competitiveness of and diversifying commercial fishing and aquaculture; fostering innovation, learning and job creation in the sector; improving the use of environmental resources; supporting social inclusion; and preserving fisheries and aquaculture heritage.
In terms of budget available for cooperation in Lithuania, most FLAGs take the decision on whether to allocate part of their budget to cooperation projects but there are no specific requirements to do so. On average, FLAGs in Lithuania can make approximately 5-10% of their budgets available for cooperation.
