  • Blue Growth - 2nd Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), 11-12th May, Greece

    Stakeholders from the Adriatic and Ionian Region will meet in May at the 2nd EUSAIR forum in Ioannina (Greece). The event is jointly organised by the European Commission and the Hellenic Republic with the support of the EUSAIR Facility point. It will focus on Blue Growth and, in particular, its interrelations with the other EUSAIR pillars: Environmental quality, Sustainable tourism and Connecting the Region.
  • Support from the EMFF: Opportunities for small-scale fishermen

    DG MARE recently published a leaflet on the support the EMFF can bring to small-scale coastal fishermen throughout their professional life and to the development of fishing communities. The leaflet lists all the options available under the EMFF to invest in fishing boats and equipment, in human resources, in fisheries conversations and collective projects.

    Social inclusion for vibrant fisheries communities: Jūrmala, 21-23 March 2017

    FARNET's fourth transnational seminar of the 2014-2020 programming period took place on 21-23 March 2017 in Jūrmala, Latvia. The theme of the event was "Social inclusion for vibrant fisheries communities". The seminar provided a framework for discussions and practical exercises based on successful cases from the EFF/EMFF, additional EU funding instruments, as well as further initiatives aimed at social inclusion.
  • Managing Authorities (MAs) and National Networks (NNs) will meet in Brussels on 17 and 18 May 2017 to work on the implementation of fisheries CLLD. The main focus of the meeting will be on getting FLAGs operational and ensuring they are equipped and supported to foster change in their communities through effective and sustainable local development projects.
