FARNET Managing Authorities meeting, Brussels, 17-18 May 2017

Managing Authorities (MAs) and National Networks (NNs) met in Brussels on 17 and 18 May 2017 to work on the implementation of fisheries CLLD. The main focus of the meeting was on getting FLAGs operational and ensuring they are equipped and supported to foster change in their communities through effective and sustainable local development projects.

The following three topics were addressed:

  • Ensuring timely and efficient implementation of CLLD in fisheries areas
  • Facilitating cooperation - provisions foreseen, progress and challenges
  • Encouraging FLAGs to improve the quality of the projects funded, through:
    • more innovative projects
    • built-in monitoring and local strategy evaluation

As usual, the meeting was also an opportunity to update information about the state of play and explore specific implementation issues in bi- and trilateral discussions with the FSU and DG MARE.
