Bienvenue sur FARNET, le réseau européen des zones de pêche

FARNET réunit les intervenants impliqués dans la mise en œuvre du développement local mené par les acteurs (CLLD) dans le cadre du Fonds européen pour les affaires maritimes et la pêche (FEAMP). Ce réseau rassemble groupes d’action locale pêche (FLAG), autorités de gestion, citoyens et experts de toute l'Union européenne au service du développement durable des zones de pêche et des territoires côtiers.

Les zones de pêche européennes font face à d’importants défis. La baisse continue des revenus et de l'emploi dans le secteur de la pêche exige des réponses innovantes, qui soient à la fois durable et inclusive. Le développement local mené par les acteurs locaux (CLLD) est un outil qui permet aux territoires dépendants de la pêche de relever ces défis en proposant et expérimentant des solutions nouvelles. FARNET a pour mission de les aider à y parvenir.

Drecklyfish is a direct sales system developed by Cornish fishermen using twitter as a live auction. After an initial phase, they received support from Axis4 of EFF to develop it further as a collective project and scale up operations.

FLAGs: Drivers of Green Growth in European Fisheries Areas

Cooperation, creativity and a long-term commitment to sustainability are some of the main ingredients necessary for fisheries areas to be successful in safeguarding their environmental assets, while also benefitting from opportunities in the green economy. This was one of the main conclusions of the FARNET conference, "FLAGs: Drivers of Green growth in European Fisheries Areas", which took place in Olhão, Portugal from the 4-6 June 2012.
