European Week of Regions and Cities (Open Days) on 11-14 October 2016: Three CLLD-themed workshops

During the upcoming European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC), some 100 sessions, seminars and meetings will be organised around ‘Regions and cities for sustainable and inclusive growth’ and following three themes: sustained and sustainable economic growth, inclusive economic growth and lessons learned from past experience with ESI Funds. As a main focus of three workshops, CLLD is a prominent theme of the week’s programme.

-   “Ensuring the social inclusion of the most disadvantaged through integrated Community-Led Local Development” (11 October, 14:30 - 17:00, 11B42)

The workshop will allow experts to share their experience and practical examples on the opportunities, obstacles and solutions to best use CLLD for social inclusion. Practical examples will be presented to show how social inclusion has been programmed and integrated into the CLLD Strategies/LAGs as well as how to support LAGs in this field.

-  “Achieving social inclusion in Community-Led Local Development in the context of the results orientation of the ESI Funds” (12 October, 09:00 - 10:45, 12B76)

This is a ‘problem-oriented’ workshop that will focus on the challenges facing CLLD in pursuing social inclusion while meeting the requirements of the results-oriented approach of the ESI Funds. Local development actors from countries with wide experience in this issue will present relevant experiences and lead an open debate on EU-wide lessons.

-  “CLLD – How does it really work?” (12 October, 11:15 - 13:00, INV12C77)

Participants of the workshop will discuss and share knowledge on effective implementation of multi-funded CLLD and develop recommendations on how to improve, while already thinking beyond 2020.This workshop will be followed by a networking session.
