Herzlich willkommen bei FARNET, dem Europäischen Netz für Fischwirtschaftsgebiete

FARNET ist ein Netz für die Durchführung der von der örtlichen Gemeinschaft betriebenen Maßnahmen für die lokale Entwicklung (CLLD) im Rahmen des Europäischen Meeres- und Fischereifonds (EMFF). In diesem Netz kommen lokale Aktionsgruppen für Fischerei (FLAG), Verwaltungsbehörden, Bürgerinnen und Bürger sowie Fachleute aus der gesamten EU zusammen, um die nachhaltige Entwicklung von Fischwirtschafts- und Küstengebieten voranzubringen.

Fischwirtschaftsgebiete in der ganzen EU stehen großen Herausforderungen gegenüber. Der fortwährende Rückgang des Einkommens und der Beschäftigung im Fischereisektor hat die Notwendigkeit innovativer Antworten, die sowohl nachhaltig als auch integrativ sind, deutlich gemacht. Die von der örtlichen Gemeinschaft betriebenen Maßnahmen für die lokale Entwicklung (CLLD) ermöglichen den lokalen Fischereigemeinschaften, diese Herausforderungen durch die Unterbreitung und Prüfung neuer Lösungsansätze anzunehmen. Hierbei werden sie von FARNET unterstützt.

FLAGs: Drivers of Green Growth in European Fisheries Areas

Cooperation, creativity and a long-term commitment to sustainability are some of the main ingredients necessary for fisheries areas to be successful in safeguarding their environmental assets, while also benefitting from opportunities in the green economy. This was one of the main conclusions of the FARNET conference, "FLAGs: Drivers of Green growth in European Fisheries Areas", which took place in Olhão, Portugal from the 4-6 June 2012.
