Southwest FLAG Lab: learning lessons on successful FLAG practice

French, Spanish and Portuguese FLAGs met in Barcelona the 22-23 September to look back at the results and challenges of the 2007-2013 funding period. This seminar was organised with the support of the French, Spanish and Portuguese administrations and involved a series of presentations and working group discussions. Topics addressed included various areas of FLAG work and, in particular, their experience of mobilising their local communities, supporting project development, selecting the most effective projects and communication activities. Exchanges also took place around the kinds of activities that FLAGs could undertake to monitor, evaluate and improve their work.  Finally, four working groups each developed proposals for the sorts of skills, experience and resources FLAG teams should aim to secure in order to be effective in the future.  The seminar was followed on the 24th September by a project visit to the Delta del Ebro FLAG.
