VSO Myanmar has been working since 2012. It has been supporting the government’s education reform to ensure that all students achieve quality learning outcomes. VSOM is implementing an education program to improve teaching skills by training trainers of school teachers. VSO Myanmar is also working in townships to improve coordination and management skills to education officials. VSOM’s health projects aims to improve access to quality maternal and child health services and enable youth to make informed decisions on sexual and reproductive health and access services. It includes improving skills of midwives and health care management at township-level; reforming pre-service midwifery education by improving clinical teaching and competence-based assessments; building clinical, management and planning skills of pediatric nurses to improve care for newborns; and advising the Health Services Department to update policies and mechanisms for information and service provision to youth.
