Dear contact persons for 2019 EUAV projects,
We would like to thank all the participating organisations that have published or re-published vacancies on the EUAV Platform since 26 October 2021.
We have however noticed that the number of validated vacancies on the EUAV Platform has significantly decreased in the past 2 months, to such an extent that it is becoming increasingly difficult to populate the scheduled training courses. Moreover, a substantial number of candidates have dropped out from the training sessions for which they had been registered, sometimes at the last minute. This has created major disruptions in the delivery of trainings and has even led to the cancellation of several courses.
We have carefully analysed the numbers of potential new training participants announced by the 2019 projects for the coming months, and it appears that this decreasing trend will continue.
Faced with these numbers, we DG EAC and EACEA have concluded that we have no other choice than to stop the publication of new vacancies as from Wednesday 23 March, with a closing date on 22 April at the latest. Vacancies that have already been published on the platform in the past can still be published again even after 23 March, however also with a closing date of 22 April.
We deplore this situation, but we need to be realistic, as training sessions cannot continue to be cancelled one after the other due to insufficient numbers of registered candidates.
We hence invite you to complete your selection of new candidate volunteers by 27 April at the latest, and to register by that date the candidates for the last training cycle to take place in Bulgaria (virtual classroom training in May and face-to-face part early June - the exact dates will be communicated soon).
Following that date, the only possibility for further deployments in 2022 (for vacancies with no selected candidate by 27 April) will be to have recourse to the reserve list of trained candidates.
For any questions, please contact our Functional Mailbox EAC-EU-AID-VOLUNTEERS@ec.europa.eu, or Rita Szettele at EACEA (rita.szettele@ec.europa.eu).
We thank you for your understanding,
The EUAV team
