During an official visit to Colombia to visit EU aid projects and meet with government officials, Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides has announced today €31 million for humanitarian aid and disaster preparedness for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Following the 7.5-magnitude earthquake which struck Papua New Guinea on 26th February, the European Union is providing €110 000 to channel emergency assistance to the affected communities in the heavily impacted areas of Southern Highlands and Hela provinces.
To mark the occassion of International Women's Day 2018, the Europan Commission issued a joint statement to reaffirm the EU's commitement to gender equality.
