The project EU Aid Volunteers: Caritas European Action for Resilience and Effective Humanitarian Response is a 24-month project to strengthen local capacity for needs-based disaster preparedness and response and resilience building in non EU countries through deployment of motivated, capable and well prepared EU Aid Volunteers.
The project is implemented by Trócaire (Ireland) and Caritas Austria together with nine third-country organisations (Trócaire DRC, Trócaire Guatemala, Trócaire Honduras, Trócaire Nicaragua, Trócaire Rwanda, Trócaire Sierra Leone, Caritas Nepal, Caritas Philippines and the Pastoralist Community Initiative Development and Assistance (PACIDA).
Through this EU Aid Volunteers project, we offer an opportunity for European professionals to contribute to humanitarian action through a well-managed deployment system, with a view to strengthening capacity of local organisations and communities. We are offering EU Aid Volunteer deployments in nine countries (Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Kenya, Nepal, Philippines, Rwanda and Sierra Leone).
The consortium partners are all members of Caritas Internationalis, a confederation of over 160 members who, inspired by the Catholic faith, are working in almost every country of the world, responding to crisis and reaching out to the poor, vulnerable and excluded, regardless of race or religion.
