The Foundation Munasim Kullakita is a NGO of Bolivia working since 2008 on Treats and Sexual Commercial Exploitation (SCE) of girls and teenagers women from 10 to 18 years old. It establishes four components of attention to this population (Identification, Attention, Prevention and Community Treatment), from a perspective of social commitment seeking to provide access to rights and the dignity of the groups identified.

The project to which the volunteers will participate belongs to the "program of attention to girls and teenagers women victim of sexual exploitation and treats”, which consists of several phases of attention:

1st Phase; victims' Identification: work and exchanges with victims in the zones of prostitution of the cities of La Paz and El Alto, which are points of commercial concentration where the girls and teenagers are involved in sexual exploitation, with the purpose of inviting them to a socioeducative space, to accompany them to the doctor, to promote and support their educational and familiar rehabilitation.

2nd Phase: Victims' Hosting center, it represents a protection space with the capacity to host 20 girls and teenagers where they receive a bio-psycho-socio-legal support linked with state authorities with the objective of gaving their Rights back.

All these activities are taking place in La Paz and El Alto in the department of La Paz.

Expected results and objectives:

The rights of children, girls and teenagers víctims of sexual commercial exploitation are returned by means of an integral support and in coordination with civil society organizations and members of the community.

In South America, Bolivia is not considered as an insecure and / or violent country. Due to the high rates of poverty, frequent way strikes, marches and manifestations are done. According to UN Women and UNICEF, Bolivia is the 2nd country after Haiti with highest indexes of mistreatment to the woman and to children, girls and adolescents.

With regard to the safety measures that the Foundation Munasim Kullakita implements, we have a manual and safety protocol for the volunteers, which is applied from before the arrival, Volunteers will be hosted near to hospitals, police centers and municipal centers. As soon as the volunteers come to Bolivia, informative meetings are done to share the main safety information. In these manuals, volunteers can find basic information about numbers and directions(addresses) of contact of the police, embassies, centers of health, companies of sure transport.

From their arrival, during two weeks the Volunteers will be accompanied by the mentor until they know the practical aspects for their transportation, projects activities… The Foundation has ideveloped a protocol of evacuation which is implemented in case some extreme situation happens for political situations, climatic catastrophes…
The volunteers inside their activities in the Foundation have a phone to be able to contact fundation members anytime and get support in case of any major safety issue in their activities.

Psychosocial and education support tasks:

- Support on the processes of accompaniment on health, education and rehabilitation for girls, children and teen victims of sexual exploitation.
- Support on the activities of identification and contact girls, children and teenagers in situation of sexual exploitation in zones where it exists sexual trade of the city of El alto.
- Education, pedagogical activities creation and facilitation with childs

Legal support tasks :

- Support on the processes of legal accompaniment with the childs and adolescent women to face justice institutions.
- Participation in the meetings and monthly evaluations of the processes of restitution of rights with the population beneficiary.

Selection criteria

The candidate for EU Aid Volunteers must be a citizen of the EU or a third country national who is a long-term resident in an EU Member State, and must have a minimum age of 18 years.

For the process of selection of the volunteer, the following criteria of eligibility are required :

- Profession:
Candidates must have professional experiences in the areas of work related to the social field: Psychologists, Social workers, Sociologists or social educators.

- Length of professional experience: 
The candidates must have from 2 to 5 years of experience (Junior) in works related to childhood and adolescence.

- Studies:
The candidates must have followed courses of specialization in subject matters related to childhood and adolescence, and subject matters related to the treats of persons and sexual exploitation.

- Language:
The candidates be fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading and writing).

- Previous volunteering experience:
The candidates must have done, as minimum, a voluntary project of 6 months out of their country to support population in situation of social disadvantage (Women, children, girls and / or adolescents).

- Personal capacities:
The candidates must be able to use Office IT program as they will use such program during their volunteering project (for reporting…)
The candidates must have good abilities to work in team as most of the activities will be done with the local team and group of beneficiaries.
Social abilities to work with young women and children facing strong difficulties.

- Studies: Certified in social sciences (Psychology, Social Work, Sociologist and / or Social Communicator)
-Labor experience: 2 to 5 years minimum
- Languages: fluent Spanish
- Volunteering experience: Minimum 1 voluntary work in subject matters of childhood and adolescence.

Condition of service

Within the volunteering project, the selected person learn about the implementation of several psyco-social strategies and practices such as the model ECO2 (socio community for intervention on a wide hypercomplex social suffering that uses the social networks as a useful and powerful theoretical & methodological perspective, including diagnosis of persons and of local communities, design and development of the strategies of intervention…) in different social contexts.

Also the volunteers will take part in courses and seminars to which the Foundation is invited on so they will be able to learn from other institutions working in the social areas to get new tools and practices.

Initially the volunteers will be trained on methodologies of the fundation in the attention to girls, children and teenagers in situation of sexual exploitation. Volunteers will have a desk with computer and cooperative cell phone, to establish aa smooth communication, the offices have an internet connection. The work schedule is: Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:30.

Our organization will arrange accomodation where the volunteers will stay during the project. This place is located in a safe district and near the head offices of the Foundation. It has an internet connection, two bedrooms that can be locked, 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom and 1 living room.

Selection process

Between the 01/03 and the 16/03/2018: the pre-selected candidates will have a Skype interview with ASPEm and Fundacion Munasim Kullakita.

Between the 19/03 and the 31/03/2018: the candidates interviewed will know if they are selected to participate to the pre-departure training.

Between April and May 2018: The pre-selected candidates will participate to an online and face-to-face pre-departure trainings.

The final selection will be done after the pre-departure trainings at the end of May / beginning of June 2018.

Important notice: additional candidates may be shortlisted for a single position and proposed for the EU Aid Volunteers training. This is to ensure that for each position, substitute volunteers may be chosen to replace the candidate in case he or she resigns or is no longer available. Where more than one candidate has been shortlisted for a single position, final selection takes places following the training.
