EU Aid Volunteers Involvement for Increasing People-Centred Humanitarian Response capacity
The EU Aid Volunteers project EU Aid Volunteers Involvement for Increasing People-Centred Humanitarian Response capacity aims to boost the humanitarian aid sector's capacity to provide needs based humanitarian aid in disaster prone and disaster affected areas in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Four EU organisations from Italy, Greece, Hungary and Spain will work together with 16 organisations from Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Middle East and North African countries, and Asia in different activities, all participating in humanitarian actions.
The project has chosen to focus on the specific objectives of enhancing the resilience, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation capacities of vulnerable communities in disaster prone and disaster affected areas.
We will also work to enhance protection mechanisms and resilience capacities of vulnerable communities and the organisations supporting these communities in protracted crisis and to reinforce communication, advocacy and accountability as a tool for effective humanitarian action.
Through providing volunteering opportunities for professionals to gain experience in humanitarian aid, we aim to reinforce humanitarian action in countries affected by disasters and crises in a wide range of areas from resilience, disaster risk reduction, communication and climate change adaptation to protection mechanisms. The EU Aid Volunteers deployed will be supported by online volunteers working on short online assignments from home.
