The Educational and Cultural Service Association (Asociación de Servicios Educativos y Culturales, ASEC) is a private, independent, non-confessional and apolitical not-for-profit guatemalan association with a social function and the aim of offering educational and cultural services to persons lacking economic resources. The seminal work of the association is the Guatemalan Institute of Radio Education (IGER, Instituto Guatemalteco de Educación Radiofónica), through which it offers distance education programmes by radio to youth and adults above 15 who, for different reasons, have been excluded from the system.
