Access to documents project (Pesticides & Biocides)

Citizens and residents of EU countries have a right of access to the documents of the European Parliament, the European Council and the European Commission, according to Article 15 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union .

Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 on public access to documents sets out the general principles governing this right of access and the limits and exceptions to it.

All the documents published on this webpage have been fully or partially released following a previous request for access (under Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 ). As a consequence, these documents may be redacted. This means that some parts may be blackened out. This is either because one or several of the exceptions listed below apply, or because there are parts of the document containing information that is falling outside the scope of the request.

This webpage displays only documents that were fully or partially released. Documents that are totally protected based on one or several of the exceptions below will not be published on this webpage despite requested.

Reasons for refusing access to a document (Article 4 of Regulation 1049/2001)

In some cases the Commission may refuse access.

Regarding documents coming from natural or legal persons, bodies or institutions other than the European Commission (third parties), we often consult the third party in order to understand whether an exception is applicable or not.

You may reuse Commission documents requested free of charge for non-commercial and commercial purposes provided that the source is acknowledged and that you do not distort the original meaning or message of the document. Please note that the Commission does not assume any liability resulting from the reuse.

Documents originating from third parties are disclosed for information only and cannot be re-used without the agreement of the originator, who holds a copyright on it. They do not reflect the position of the Commission and cannot be quoted as such.
