Igualdade de género

A igualdade de género é um valor europeu, mas também uma prova da eficácia da ajuda. Está provado que a desigualdade entre homens e mulheres e a pobreza estão estreitamente relacionadas.
Não se trata só de as mulheres terem rendimentos mais baixos e serem menos ricas. A pobreza, na sua aceção financeira, é agravada pela falta de poder político das mulheres e pela desigualdade no acesso aos direitos humanos fundamentais, ao emprego, à informação, aos serviços sociais, às infraestruturas e aos recursos naturais. Por conseguinte, para que a igualdade de género se torne uma realidade, é necessário garantir que a ajuda é eficaz e beneficia de igual modo homens e mulheres, rapazes e raparigas.



The objective of this webinar is to show, through practical examples, the link between the Rights-Based Approach integrating gender mainstreaming and the effectiveness of the COVID-19 response. The webinar will discuss the added value of this methodology to overcome social, economic and environmental challenges of the pandemic, and to keep the path of the SDGs, with the aim of leaving no one behind.

This collection of fifteen good practices in mainstreaming gender highlights cases collected through the 2017 EU Gender Action Plan II Annual Implementation Report1 and the 2017 External Assistance Management Reports (EAMR). It aims to provide an inventory of examples of programmes, projects and initiatives – implemented by EU Delegations, the European Commission, the European External Action Service and EU Member States – in which gender is mainstreamed well, and which promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. The collection covers a wide range of geographical areas, sectors and cooperation modalities.
