Igualdad de género

La igualdad de género no solo es un valor europeo, sino que también sirve de indicio de la eficacia de la ayuda. Hay pruebas de la estrecha relación existente entre la desigualdad de género y la pobreza.
No se trata únicamente de que las mujeres perciban salarios más bajos y dispongan de rentas menores. La pobreza en un sentido estrictamente financiero se ve agravada por la falta de poder político y el acceso desigual a los derechos humanos básicos, el empleo, la información, los servicios sociales, las infraestructuras o los recursos naturales. Por consiguiente, el tratamiento activo de la igualdad de género garantiza que la ayuda sea eficaz y beneficie por igual a mujeres, hombres y menores de ambos sexos.



The objective of this webinar is to show, through practical examples, the link between the Rights-Based Approach integrating gender mainstreaming and the effectiveness of the COVID-19 response. The webinar will discuss the added value of this methodology to overcome social, economic and environmental challenges of the pandemic, and to keep the path of the SDGs, with the aim of leaving no one behind.

This collection of fifteen good practices in mainstreaming gender highlights cases collected through the 2017 EU Gender Action Plan II Annual Implementation Report1 and the 2017 External Assistance Management Reports (EAMR). It aims to provide an inventory of examples of programmes, projects and initiatives – implemented by EU Delegations, the European Commission, the European External Action Service and EU Member States – in which gender is mainstreamed well, and which promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. The collection covers a wide range of geographical areas, sectors and cooperation modalities.
