As general objectives, the DOVE project aims to collect, describe, compare and analyze documents on policies and practices directly addressing domestic violence that are being implemented throughout the involved states. Simultaneously, DOVE will describe the domestic violence experiences of women and men aged 18-64 years living in urban centres of 8 European Member States, regarding its magnitude, characteristics, determinants and its consequences in terms of health and quality of life.
Overall, the project contribution focuses on the development of evidence-based policies, research and practice strategies to early detection and prevention of DV against women and men, as well as existing practices of support, care and rehabilitation of victimized women and men and management of perpetration.

EUPHIX aims to design and implement a structured information base for the field of public health. `Structured` implies that all the public health topics included are ordered in a logical way, and that access to the issues is possible by various predetermined routes. The indicator selection and framework developed by the ECHI project were important elements of this structure. The `information` intended to include (1) aggregated data, connected to indicators and derived from validated sources, (2) textual contributions provided by EU expert networks, and (3) maps displaying national and regional health data. The information base was developed as a web-based application and should find a place in the EU Public Health Portal. The project was developping a process of implementing and maintaining the information base, since it only can have value when it is continued after the project is finished. The project used earlier results from the Health Monitoring Programme, and on the experience from building the Dutch web-based information systems ?Compass` and ?Atlas` and on experiences in other MS with electronic health monitoring and reporting systems.

Health impact assessment (HIA) is being increasinlgly used as a resource to support decision making in all sectors. Despite a patchy geography, HIA is an established or at least recognised form of impact assessment in several countries on Western Europe. Eastern European countries, icluding acce and candite countries have been somewhat less involved in these developments. However, there have been many signals of a keen interest in the matter. The proposed project aims at bringing together past experience and to conduct a parallel process of acquiring skilss in HIA through the performance of concrete applications of HIA in acceding and candidate countries. Objectives of the proposal could be: - Consolidate HIA networks in Eastern Europe; - Strengthen HIA capacity in new member states and pre-accession countries; - Design, initiate, pilot and carry out parallel case studies in HIA of various sectors; - Progress methodology of incorporating socio-econo.
