The project will develop common training curricula and capacity-building programmes in HIV/AIDS. The training will cover a broad range of relevant topics in HIV/AIDS treatment and management, combining on-site training with online distance learning methods. After piloting, the curricula will be incorporated in the networks and disseminated to a broader stakeholder audience.


To generate and validate an innovative European model of good practice for HIV prevention in MSM for use across Europe, and particularly in ‘gay venues’. This will be supported through the collaborative efforts of a European network of organisations consisting of public administrations, academic organisations, NGOs who are active in HIV issues or defending the rights of gay people, and organisations which bring together gay business owners. The model of good practice which will be developed within the Everywhere project aims to put culturally adapted HIV prevention information and materials in clients’ hands in those environments where anonymous sex between men is practiced. This will contribute to raising awareness within MSM of HIV prevention messages by joining forces with four different businesses sectors that are associated with HIV preventing homosexual tourism and entertainment in Europe.


The project objective is to obtain reliable and valid information on HIV and Syphilis prevalence, risk behaviour, and cultural factors among men having sex with men (MSM), using a non-invasive outreach testing method (oral fluid) in countries of Southern and Eastern Europe. The project also aims to create a network of institutions working to implement new tools for STI surveillance, in collaboration with the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in support of comprehensive, integrated HIV/STI prevention strategies.


Objective 1: Research and Documentation : To develop a comprehensive European sexual and reproductive health (SRH) for youth policy framework and practical guidelines for various stakeholders using evidence-based and operations-oriented research underpinned by gender, culture and rights issues and accurately presenting the situation by employing or further developing the latest evidence.
Objective 2: Dissemination of Information and Advocacy : To raise awareness of and advocate for the integration of the European SRH policy framework and practical guidelines both at the level of public policy and public opinion (media and civil society).
Objective 3: Testing Best Practices: Youth-for-Youth : To improve the adaptation and implementation of modules and methodologies of best practices related to sex education programmes, in the formal and informal sectors.


SUNFLOWER project will generate, collect and disseminate good practices, information and data on HIV/AIDS prevention methods among young people that will be used by national administrations, professionals and other parties from New EU Member states that work in the field of HIV prevention.

