The general objective of the project is to identify and validate a set of Day Surgery (DS) indicators and to develop the Information Systems on DS in Europe. This project proposes to analyse DS data and health indicators both at international organizations and MSs level. It will also identify and test potential indicators. DS development represents a priority being an important opportunity for health systems reorganization.

-To determine the standards of best practices and to develop quality indicators for Donation after Brain Death (DBD), Donation after Cardiac Death (DCD) and Living Donation (LD) in order to create tools to evaluate the overall quality in organ donation.

Specific
- To identify and develop Quality Standards (QS) in the 3 types of organ donation (DBD, DCD and LD) in the participating hospitals in order to define Quality Indicators (QI).
- To define and create Quality Indicators (QI) to determine and measure the organizational structures and clinical procedures on the 3 types of organ donation in the participating hospitals.
- Train healthcare professionals in the creation and implementation of QS and QI.
- To develop Auditing tools to evaluate the implementation of the best practices described in the QS and the use of the QI.
- To train healthcare professionals in the use of the QI checklists and auditing procedures. – both for organizational structures and clinical procedures - defined and based on QS.
