The main aim of this proposal was to build a European network that ensured harmonisation of core activities pertaining to injury control and safety promotion among elderly. Criteria for the identification of participants were set by all partners and subsequently experts in injury prevention, geriatric health, consumer protection community support and advocacy groups were designated to actively participate in the project. Attention were paid to recruit even representation from the enlarged Europe countries and collaborate with organisations with known visibility and prestige.


To develop core injury prevention tools and resources to enable national and European strategic and action planning for child safety that consisted of comprehensive injury indicators (assessment/benchmarking, tools), strategies of good practice (action indicators) and capacity building (through mentoring and working seminars), that enhanced policy and decision making to reduce child injuries.


- To improve mental health information and knowledge for the development of mental health in public health
- To promote mental health and prevent mental disease through addressing health determinants
- To address specifically in promotion and prevention stress, anxiety, depression, suicide and related disorders.

The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (FIOSH) with 6 partner networks will create a Project Consortium. The networks have worked together, directly and indirectly, in a number of projects in health promotion in order to promote Mental Health, to prevent mental illnesses and to ensure Mental Health is an integral component of public health.

