General objectives

The project aims to monitor and explore gender gaps and inequalities in health expectancies between EU Member States and identify explanatory factors for convergent or divergent trends.

Strategic relevance and contribution to the public health programme

The project will produce comparable data on health inequalities in the EU and disseminate it to policymakers.

Methods and means

The project will monitor and explore gender gaps and inequalities in health expectancies between Member States. It will continuously update an online information system of health and life expectancy and organise a training workshop and a conference for policymakers to demonstrate best practice.
